How This Project Came to Be
Site & Context
The flat opens like a reveal, not a room. Miami light pours in from above, amplified by a six-meter ceiling that gives the space its first gesture of grandeur. The architecture breathes vertically; walls don’t simply rise, they extend, carrying wood panelling upward in long, disciplined rhythms. The grain is warm, tactile, intentional balanced by mirror-polished stainless steel that captures light and reflects it back with quiet precision. This is not an apartment designed to impress at first glance. It is designed to unfold. The Garden Beyond the glass, the garden is staged like an outdoor salon. A pool runs clean and linear, framed by sculpted greenery and architectural lighting. At night, reflections double the space water mirroring sky, steel echoing moonlight. It feels private, curated, almost theatrical, yet unmistakably Miami: lush, nocturnal, alive. The boundary between inside and outside dissolves. Conversations drift from sofa to pool edge without interruption. The Living Space Inside, scale becomes intimacy. Despite the height and volume, the living room feels grounded. Every piece of furniture is bespoke—designed not to fill space, but to anchor it. Low, generous seating contrasts with the soaring walls, drawing the eye horizontally before letting it rise again. Major Pierre Soulages, Anselme Reyle, Raoul Dufy art pieces command the walls, not as decoration, but as architecture in their own right. Textured blacks, metallics, and bold forms create moments of pause. Each artwork is given space to exist. Nothing competes, nothing crowds. Lighting is layered and deliberate: indirect glows, sculptural lamps, reflections bouncing softly off stainless steel surfaces. The effect is calm, controlled, almost cinematic. Craft Over Convention Nothing here is off-the-shelf. The piano is bespoke, its presence as sculptural as it is musical. An object that belongs as much to the room as the art. The pool table follows the same philosophy: custom-built, balanced between play and design, its materials echoing the finishes of the flat itself. Wood panelling lines walls like a tailored suit. Precise, confident, timeless. Stainless steel appears not as accent, but as material language: mirrors, structures, details that sharpen the softness of the wood and upholstery. Private Spaces In quieter corners, the mood shifts without losing coherence. Bedrooms feel cocooned, wrapped in texture and symmetry. Custom bedside pieces, layered lighting, and art above the headboard transform rest into ritual. Everything is intentional; nothing is excessive. The Story It Tells This flat doesn’t chase trends. It asserts identity. It tells a story of craftsmanship, of scale controlled by restraint, of Miami energy refined into something architectural and enduring. It is a place where art is structural, furniture is personal, and luxury is measured not in ornament but in precision. A home designed not just to be seen, but to be experienced...slowly, fully, and repeatedly.
