A House for wishes

Site & Context

A House of Wishes In the heart of Gemmayzeh, among Beirut's historic facades, hidden gardens and timeless stairways, stands a house built around a simple belief: That beauty is meaningful when it serves a purpose. More than a guesthouse, this is a place where stories meet. The story of Beirut, a city that has always chosen life over adversity. The story of travellers seeking authenticity, connection and inspiration. And the story of children whose greatest dreams deserve to become reality. From the moment one enters, the house reveals itself through a series of carefully crafted spaces. Arches frame distant rooms, natural light dances across black-and-white marble floors, walls are adorned with collections gathered over time, and every detail has been chosen with intention. The atmosphere is neither that of a hotel nor that of a private residence. It is something in between. A place designed to slow time. A place where conversations linger, where books remain open on coffee tables, where strangers become friends and where memories are quietly created. The spirit of the house is inspired by the Make-A-Wish philosophy. Throughout the property, symbols of hope, joy, imagination and gratitude appear in subtle ways. Decorative plates, mirrors, artwork and objects tell a story of dreams, reminding us that even the simplest wish can carry extraordinary meaning. What makes this house unique is not what it offers its guests, but what it represents beyond its walls. Its revenues are dedicated to helping grant wishes to seriously ill children, transforming moments of uncertainty into moments of wonder. Every stay, every gathering and every shared experience contributes to a larger story—one that extends far beyond Gemmayzeh. In a city known for its resilience, this house was created as a celebration of optimism. A place where hospitality becomes purpose. Where design becomes storytelling. Where every room holds the quiet promise that hope, like a wish, has the power to change a life. Welcome to a house where every detail tells a story. And every story begins with a wish.
